Lebron James and Adam Sandler Team Up For NBA Netflix Film
Collider’s Jeff Sneider recently revealed that Lakers star player LeBron James will be producing ‘Hustle’, a Netflix movie starring Adam Sandler. LeBron and Maverick Carter, his business partner, will be carrying out the production of the movie under his Springhill Entertainment Company.
The plot of the movie is said to circulate around an American basketball scout who loses his job. After the scout (Adam Sandler) finds a ‘once in a lifetime player’ abroad, he attempts to make a comeback by bringing the player to the U.S with hopes of making it back into the NBA.
According to the report from Collider, LeBron James and Adam Sandler were connected through a mutual friend, director Judd Apatow. Apatow was the basketball player’s director in movie ‘Trainwreck’ and the actor’s college roommate.
After his role in ‘Trainwreck’ starring Bill Hader and Amy Schumer, LeBron is quickly becoming a Hollywood favorite. The Laker’s star will also be starring in ‘Space Jam 2’ like basketball legend Michael Jordan who was the protagonist in the first installment.
Adam Sandler is also on fire at the moment as just last year, he was nominated for two Emmy Awards for hosting Saturday Night Live and 100% Fresh, his Netflix special. Also, for his role in the drama Uncut Gems, he received the most favorable reviews of his acting career. This makes him a perfect fit for this role.
Sneider also revealed that Jeremiah Zagar, who directed and co-wrote the critically acclaimed drama ‘We the Animals’, will be directing the movie. The 2018 movie boasts a splendid rating of 93% on rotten tomatoes which makes it one of Zagar’s best movies.
Joe Roth, Zack Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum will also co-produce the movie under Roth/Kirschenbaum Films with Spencer Beighley and Jamal Henderson serving as executive producers.
